MEDICAL DEVICES: BILLING MOBILE APP

Customer

Our client provides medical products and services for advanced orthopedic patient care. During several years, they acquired new companies, which necessitated a new billing solution to their ever-growing, innovative line of business.Due to the nature of the business all products and solution needs to be HIPPA and CFR Part 11 compliant.

Challenge

Our client needed to access several internal applications. They needed to access applications residing within company's firewall in a secured manner from outside world, but also needed to access and submit data from any device.

 

The initial project was to extend a homegrown application to providers, data entry operators, and sales delegates.

Solution

BI Demantra created a fully integrated custom .NET mobile solution using Xamarin. We also created a restful and SOAP service layer to extend a custom billing solution in a secured manner.

 

Datebase was on SQL Server streched to Azure SQL platform. Additionally, master data was centralized to Master Data Services.

 

ADFS was used as the authentication provider, which was token encrypted. Also a mobile app was published to several mobile platforms so that users can securely log in and access their applicatoins.

Result
  1. Extending the new billing solution to mobile devices resulted in increased productivity for the billing staff. Xamarin on .NET also allowed our client to leverage its original investment in their existing technologies, such as SQL and .NET. BI Demantra
  2. Our solution enabled our client to deploy a mobile app on all platforms without having to develop it separately for iOS, Windows and Android devices. As a result, they were able to significantly reduce development time and cost.
